Azerbaijan, Northern Cyprus discuss expansion of sporting ties
Azerbaijan’s National Olympic Committee has hosted an official meeting with a delegation from the National Olympic Committee (NOC) of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.
The event was attended by NOC Vice-President Chingiz Huseynzada, Secretary-General Azer Aliyev, President of Northern Cyprus’ NOC Orçun Kamalı, Third Secretary of the Northern Cyprus Representation in Baku Görkem Reis, Head of the External Relations Department Anar Baghirov, and Press Secretary Murad Ferzaliyev, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
During the meeting, the sides discussed expanding sporting ties, organising training camps, and enhancing cooperation at international tournaments. Huseynzada welcomed the guests and spoke about the performance of Azerbaijani athletes at the Islamic Solidarity Games.
He noted that the country’s strongest results since Baku 2017 were achieved at the Games in Konya, and highlighted the high quality of training facilities in Northern Cyprus.
