Azerbaijan opens chess pavilion in Belgrade

The opening of Azerbaijan’s chess pavilion took place at Tashmajdan Park in Belgrade.
The ceremony was attended by Marko Kešelj, State Secretary at Serbia’s Ministry of Sports, and Andrija Jorgić, along with other officials and guests, Caliber.Az reports per local media.
Speaking at the event, Azerbaijan’s Ambassador to Serbia, Kamil Khasiyev, highlighted the strong bilateral relationship, describing Serbia as one of Azerbaijan’s closest partners in Europe and a reliable strategic ally.
Khasiyev also emphasised the deep-rooted chess traditions shared by both countries, noting that Azerbaijan and Serbia have produced numerous grandmasters who continue to compete successfully in major international tournaments.
