Azerbaijan, Pakistan to boost cooperation in football development
Rovshan Najaf, President of the Association of Football Federations of Azerbaijan (AFFA), held a working meeting in Washington with Mohsen Gilani, President of the Pakistan Football Federation (PFF), on the sidelines of the 2026 World Cup draw ceremony.
According to AFFA’s official website, the two federations signed a Memorandum of Understanding during the meeting.
The memorandum outlines plans to expand cooperation between the football governing bodies of the two countries and further strengthen their partnership. It is designed to advance football development, deepen international engagement, and create new opportunities for players, coaches, and referees.
Under the agreement, AFFA and PFF will work together in organizing training camps and arranging friendly matches between national teams across different age groups. The memorandum also prioritizes the development of women’s football, futsal, beach soccer, and football for people with disabilities. In addition, the two sides agreed to collaborate on training initiatives and the exchange of referees.
The signing of the memorandum marks an important step in reinforcing the friendship and mutual trust between AFFA and PFF and is expected to contribute significantly to the growth of football in both countries.
