Azerbaijan participates in 79th CISM General Assembly and Congress
Azerbaijan was represented at the 79th General Assembly and Congress of the International Council of Military Sports (CISM) in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.
Azerbaijani Defence Ministry told Caliber.Az that the Azerbaijani delegation, led by Lieutenant Colonel Ramig Orujev, head of the Central Sports Club of the Army of the Ministry of Defence, attended the event. Chaired by CISM President Colonel Nilton Rolim and attended by representatives from 82 countries, discussions revolved around the organization's mission, objectives, and global military sports development.
Key topics included CISM's sports policy formation, approval of sports calendars for 2024-2026, and the development of a comprehensive 5-year plan. The session also facilitated an exchange of experiences in joint activities for military sports development.
Azerbaijan's Central Sports Club of the Army has been an active CISM member since 1995, with Azerbaijani servicemen excelling at World and European Championships hosted by the organization. To date, they have achieved remarkable success, securing 78 gold, 66 silver, and 103 bronze medals.
