Diplomatic World Sweden covers visit of foreign diplomats to Karabakh
Diplomatic World Sweden, a platform aimed at political figures and embassy staff in Sweden, has published an article covering a recent visit by members of the diplomatic corps accredited in Azerbaijan to the East Zangazur and Karabakh regions.
The two-day mission, which began on June 20, included stops in the cities of Lachin, Shusha, and Aghdam.
The article details how the delegation — accompanied by Hikmet Hajiyev, Assistant to the President of Azerbaijan — was briefed on the progress of large-scale reconstruction and restoration work underway in areas liberated from occupation, Caliber.Az reports, citing local media.
In both Shusha and Aghdam, the diplomats toured significant cultural and historical sites. Special emphasis was placed on efforts to preserve the architectural heritage of Shusha, including the restoration of monuments and the revitalisation of the city’s infrastructure.
In Aghdam, the diplomats visited a newly inaugurated transport hub combining railway and bus terminals, which was officially opened by President Ilham Aliyev in May of this year. The group also toured the Aghdam Industrial Park, a major centre for economic redevelopment and investment in the region.
Two key projects highlighted during the visit were Mister Decor — the first wallpaper manufacturing plant in the South Caucasus — and Eel Electric, a company focused on the production of electrical equipment.
The visit concluded on June 21, as the delegation boarded a high-speed train from Aghdam to Baku. Before departure, the participants gathered for a commemorative photo in front of the newly constructed transport complex.
