Azerbaijan pavilion cancels celebrations in solidarity with Moscow terror attack victims PHOTO
The Azerbaijan Pavilion at the Exhibition of Achievements of National Economy (VDNKh) in Moscow has decided to cancel the second day of its Novruz celebrations as a gesture of solidarity with the victims of the recent terrorist attack at Crocus City Hall.
According to information provided by the press service of the Pavilion to the correspondent of the Russian bureau of Report, the cancellation comes in light of the tragic events unfolding at Crocus City Hall.
The Novruz celebrations, which commenced on March 22, featured a variety of activities aimed at commemorating the national holiday "Novruz Bayram." Guests at the Pavilion were treated to a themed photo zone, master classes on traditional practices such as decorating national sweets and dyeing eggs for festive adornment, as well as demonstrations of the art of "Mehendi" – traditional henna painting.
Moreover, attendees had the opportunity to indulge in aromatic Azerbaijani tea paired with delectable national sweets within the Trade Hall of the Pavilion, creating an immersive cultural experience for all.
Originally slated for two days, the festivities were abruptly halted on March 23rd as a mark of respect and solidarity with the victims of the terrorist attack at Crocus City Hall. Consequently, all planned entertainment programs, theatrical performances, and the highly anticipated festive concert featuring young performers were cancelled.
