Azerbaijan prepares for religious leaders' summit at COP29 To enhance global interfaith dialogue/PHOTO
Azerbaijan is gearing up to host a significant summit of religious leaders on the sidelines of COP29, with discussions focusing on the event's preparations to be held in Baku.
The discussions were held during a meeting between Ramin Mammadov, Chairman of the State Committee for Work with Religious Organizations, and Mohamed Abdulsalam, the Secretary General of the Muslim Council of Elders, Caliber.Az reports.
Mammadov emphasized Azerbaijan's commitment to strengthening cooperation with the Islamic world and promoting Islamic values and culture on an international scale. He highlighted the country's dedication to fostering interfaith dialogue and cooperation.
Abdulsalam commended Azerbaijan's successful efforts in advancing interfaith dialogue within the Islamic world under President Ilham Aliyev's leadership. He expressed optimism that the upcoming summit on the margins of COP29 will positively impact interfaith relations and contribute to global dialogue.
The summit aims to bring together religious leaders from various faiths to discuss and promote mutual understanding and cooperation, furthering Azerbaijan's role in fostering global interfaith dialogue.
