Azerbaijan proposes regional airports to foreign management
No violations of antimonopoly legislation were identified in the activities of Azerbaijani Airlines (AZAL).
Deputy Head of the State Service for Antimonopoly and Consumer Market Supervision under the Ministry of Economy Jafar Babayev told a presser dedicated to the results of 2023, Report informs.
He noted that in addition to AZAL, several foreign airlines operate in the country, and citizens have a choice: “AZAL flies to limited destinations, while foreign companies fly more often to other countries.”
Jafar Babaev noted that proposals were made to improve this area
“It was proposed to hand over several airports in the regions to the management of foreign companies or attract an additional airline to avoid the formation of local management. We hope that in the future this will be taken into account and citizens will be able to buy cheaper tickets.”
