Azerbaijan revises format for FIFA Series – 2026 tournament

The schedule and format of the international “FIFA Series – 2026” tournament in Azerbaijan have been revised.

The change comes after the Oman national team confirmed it will be unable to travel to Azerbaijan due to escalating military tensions in the Middle East, Caliber.Az reports via local media.

Under the format now approved by FIFA, the tournament will feature two matches. 

Azerbaijan will face Saint Lucia on March 27 and Sierra Leone on March 30. Both matches will be held at the Mehdi Huseynzade City Stadium in Sumgayit, with kick-off scheduled for 19:00.
