Azerbaijan, Russia enhance legal cooperation with seminar, bilateral meeting PHOTO
Azerbaijan and Russia have intensified their legal cooperation through a seminar and bilateral meeting focused on protecting socially vulnerable populations, as outlined in their 2024-2025 cooperation programme.
In connection with the programme, signed between Azerbaijan’s Prosecutor General Kamran Aliyev and his Russian counterpart Igor Krasnov, a seminar on the topic “Protection of socially vulnerable categories of the population” and a bilateral meeting of heads of structures responsible for international questions, the press service of the Prosecutor General's Office of Azerbaijan told Caliber.Az.
The Azerbaijani Prosecutor's Office was represented at the meeting by a delegation headed by Erkin Alikhanov, Head of the International Legal Cooperation Department, and comprising Prosecutor Nigar Yahyazade, Senior Prosecutor of the Department for Defence of State Prosecution Emil Mirzoyev and Prosecutor of the Department for Enforcement Proceedings outside Criminal Prosecution Hikmet Verdiyev.
Presentations were made on the topic and detailed information was given on the reforms being implemented in this area.
In order to discuss cooperation in the field of legal aid and extradition in criminal cases, the heads of international structural organisations met and exchanged useful ideas on issues of interest to the parties.
