Azerbaijan's female wrestler crowned ten-time European champion PHOTO
Azerbaijani female wrestler Maria Stadnik has won the European title for the 10th time.
In the final of the continental championships, held in the Romanian capital of Bucharest, the athlete came face to face with Türkiye's Evin Demirhan, per Report.
In the final bout, Stadnik managed to win the gold medal by defeating her rival.
Alena Kolesnik (59 kg) followed Maria in the final bout and also won. Alena became the European champion for the first time. In the final, she defeated Alina Filipovych (Ukraine).
We have achieved another historic success at the European Wrestling Championships, Mikail Jabbarov, President of the Azerbaijan Wrestling Federation, wrote on his X account.
"Maria Stadnik has made us proud by winning the title of the European champion for the tenth time in a row. For the first time in her career, Alena Kolesnik won the title of European Senior Champion. Congratulations Maria! Congratulations, Alena! Congratulations, the Azerbaijan wrestling team!" the message reads.
