Azerbaijan's Imamaddin Khalilov clinches Paralympic gold at Paris 2024
Azerbaijani para-taekwondo athlete Imamaddin Khalilov has been crowned champion at the Paris 2024 Summer Paralympic Games.
Competing in the K44 category within the 70-kilogram weight class, Khalilov faced Turkish competitor Fatih Çelik in the final bout, Caliber.Az reports.
Khalilov secured a decisive victory, triumphing with a score of 15-2 and earning the title of Paralympic champion.
Meanwhile, Azerbaijan’s First Vice-President Mehriban Aliyeva has made post on her social media accounts congratulating Azerbaijani para-taekwondo athlete Imamaddin Khalilov for his gold medal victory at the Paris 2024 Summer Paralympic Games.
The post by Mehriban Aliyeva reads: “Azerbaijani para-taekwondo athlete Imamaddin Khalilov has secured the gold medal! Turkish para-athlete Fatih Çelik has won the silver medal! I extend my heartfelt congratulations to both athletes and wish them continued success. May the Almighty protect Azerbaijan and Türkiye!”
