Azerbaijan`s judoka wins gold at Tel Aviv Grand Slam 2023
Azerbaijani judoka Zelym Kotsoiev (100 kg) on the last day of the Grand Slam tournament in Tel Aviv won the gold medal after defeating Michael Korrel from the Netherlands in the final.
As Azertag reports, according to an article published on the official website of the International Judo Federation, Kotsoiev has already achieved a stable and sustainable result in the judo world tour. He has consistently won bronze medals at the World Championships in Uzbekistan, the Masters tournaments in Israel and the Grand Slam in France.
According to the author, the difference in world ranking between the two athletes was negligible. Thus, Korrel was in second place in the world ranking, and Kotsoiev was in third place. In the final meeting, the athlete won a clear victory with an ippon.
Currently, Kotsoiev has settled in first place in the Olympic rating list.
