Azerbaijan's main electoral agency initiates snap parliamentary elections process
On June 29, Azerbaijan's Central Electoral Commission (CEC) will commence the process for extraordinary parliamentary elections.
At tomorrow's CEC meeting, the commission will approve the "Calendar Plan of Main Actions and Measures on Preparation and Holding of Extraordinary Elections to the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan," Caliber.Az, citing the local media.
During the meeting, working and expert groups will also be formed.
The VI convocation of the Milli Majlis of Azerbaijan completed its work on June 28.
Today, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev signed an order to dissolve the VI convocation of the Milli Majlis and schedule extraordinary parliamentary elections. According to the president's order, the elections will be held on September 1, 2024.
