Azerbaijan's U-21 team to face England in Euro 2025 qualifiers
On October 15, the Azerbaijan U-21 national team is set to face England in the qualifying stage for the UEFA European Under-21 Championship.
The match will take place at Ashton Gate Stadium in Bristol, kicking off at 22:30 Baku time, Caliber.Az reports per local media.
Croatian referee Ivana Martinčić will officiate the match. This encounter marks the final game for the Azerbaijani team in the current qualifiers.
So far, the Azerbaijani players have managed to secure only 3 points, placing them at the bottom of their group. Ukraine currently leads the group with 24 points, followed by England with 22 points.
Notably, the 2025 UEFA European Under-21 Championship, also known as UEFA Under-21 Euro 2025, will mark the 25th edition of this biennial international youth football tournament, or the 28th if the Under-23 era is included. Organised by UEFA, the championship features men's under-21 national teams from across Europe.
Slovakia will serve as the host nation for the tournament, which will feature a total of 16 teams competing in the final event from June 12 to July 5, 2025. Players born on or after 1 January 2002 will be eligible to participate.
