Azerbaijan seizes large consignment of drugs smuggled from Iran
The large-scale drug trading attempt has been prevented in Baku as a result of joint operations by employees of the State Customs Committee and the Interior Ministry.
The officers found and seized narcotic substances that were hidden under a box with clothes, shoes, and textile products, Caliber.Az reports, citing the Committee.
The inspection was said to be carried out in front of a multi-storey residential building in the Narimanov district of Baku.
An operation was conducted, during which the man who took the bundle was detained. A cellophane bag, which was taken by a man arriving at the premises in a Lada car, was inspected. An inspection revealed 500 pills called "Methadone 40", 10 pills in each package.
An investigation is underway into the case.
