Firefighting efforts continue as wildfires spread in Azerbaijan's Aghdara, Goranboy regions Photo / Video

Efforts are underway to contain wildfires that broke out near the villages of Talish in the Aghdara District and Tapgaragoyunlu in the Goranboy District, with helicopters deployed to support the operation.

According to the Karabakh bureau of Report, the fires ignited in the early hours of the morning and rapidly spread across large areas due to strong winds.

The flames have mainly affected dry grasslands and scrub vegetation, fuelling their swift advance.

Firefighting brigades from Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Emergency Situations have been dispatched to the affected areas. Helicopters are drawing water from the nearby Sugovushan reservoir to assist in extinguishing the blaze.

Authorities are actively working to prevent the fire from spreading further.
