Wildfire spreads from Aghdam to Khojavand district in Azerbaijan
A wildfire that began on July 24 in the village of Gyulabli in Azerbaijan’s Aghdam district has rapidly spread, reaching the village of Mirikend in the Khojavand district.
The fire covers a large area, prompting a significant response to contain it. Eighty personnel, including seven firefighting teams from the Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES) across the Aghdam, Aghjabadi, Yevlakh, and Khankendi districts, have been deployed to combat the blaze.
Two helicopters are also involved in the firefighting efforts, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
This incident follows a series of wildfires that have affected multiple liberated regions of Azerbaijan in recent days. Fires were previously reported in several villages across the Fuzuli and Khojavand districts, including Yukhari Yaghlivend, Jamilli, Divanallar, and the town of Hadrut.
