Azerbaijan, Serbia strengthen ties Key agreements mark enhanced cooperation
Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov and his Serbian counterpart Marko Djuric have met to discuss and advance bilateral relations between the two countries.
The meeting, held in Baku, began with a one-on-one discussion and expanded to include delegations from both nations, Azerbaijan's Foreign Ministry told Caliber.Az.
The talks focused on strengthening the strategic partnership in various domains, including political, economic, energy, and humanitarian spheres. Both ministers hailed the growing dynamics of their bilateral relations, highlighting mutual support in regional and international organizations.
The FMs emphasized the importance of deepening cooperation in education, science, and culture, and noted the positive impact of the visa-free regime and city twinning between Shusha and Novi Pazar.
Bayramov briefed Djuric on the current situation in the post-conflict region, including reconstruction efforts in Karabakh and East Zangazur, and invited Serbian businesses to invest in these redevelopment projects. He also outlined the ongoing challenges in the peace process with Armenia, noting issues related to Armenia’s legislative acts and its rapid armament.
Djuric congratulated Azerbaijan on its recent parliamentary elections, praising their transparency and democratic process, and expressed optimism for the results. The meeting concluded with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between ADA University and the Diplomatic Academy of Serbian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, marking a new phase in educational and diplomatic collaboration between the two countries.
