Azerbaijan to cooperate with Coalition of Finance Ministers for Climate Action

Azerbaijan will cooperate with representatives of the Coalition of Finance Ministers for Climate Action to support the fight against climate change in issues arising from the Framework Convention on Climate Change.

The Ministry of Finance of Azerbaijan was represented at the Coalition meeting organized in The Hague as a representative of the country hosting this year's 29th session of the Conference of the Parties (COP 29) to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change, the ministry told Report.

Azar Mursagulov, Director of the Agency for Managing Public Debt and Financial Obligations under the Azerbaijani Finance Ministry, addressed the opening ceremony of the event in the format of a videoconference.

Mursagulov expressed gratitude to the countries that supported Azerbaijan's bid to host COP29. He also emphasized the importance of climate finance, which was the main call in the COP29 agenda. Mursagulov called on the coalition members to cooperate on issues arising from the Framework Convention on Climate Change.

The coalition co-chairs congratulated Azerbaijan on hosting the COP29 and affirmed readiness for close cooperation in this regard.
