Azerbaijan to expand “Healthy Neighborhood” project nationwide, says minister
The “Healthy Neighborhood” initiative, aimed at promoting widespread participation in sports and encouraging healthy lifestyles, will be implemented across multiple regions of Azerbaijan, Minister of Youth and Sports Farid Gayibov said.
Speaking to media, Gayibov emphasized the project’s focus on engaging young people in physical activity, Caliber.Az reports, citing local media.
“It is encouraging to see that children are showing strong interest in this project. They will now be able to use sports facilities in their own neighborhoods and spend their free time in a healthy and productive way,” he said.
Looking ahead, the minister noted that the initiative is expected to expand in scale over the coming years. “Similar initiatives launched at the initial stage in Nakhchivan will later be introduced in other regions of Azerbaijan,” Gayibov added.
The first phase of the program saw the official opening of “Healthy Neighborhood” facilities on February 6 in Babak, Julfa, and Shahbuz districts of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.
