Azerbaijan-Turkish cultural exchange brings joy to nursing home residents in Slovenia
The Azerbaijan-Turkish Cultural Association hosted a vibrant cultural exchange event at a local nursing home in Litija, Slovenia, celebrating Azerbaijan’s heritage.

Association President Taleh Gurbanov showed a presentation, emphasizing the importance of fostering economic and diplomatic relations between Azerbaijan and Slovenia. He highlighted Azerbaijan's commitment to peace, cooperation, and stability, noting that these principles are central to the nation’s foreign policy and crucial for the well-being and security of the entire region.
The event featured an engaging artistic program that showcased the diversity of Azerbaijani culture. Association members Barış Öncebe and Baransel Oğuz captivated the audience with performances of Azerbaijani and Turkish music, creating unforgettable moments for the attendees. Among the guests, renowned Slovenian businesswoman Maria Chop shared her admiration for Azerbaijan’s rich history and culture, expressing her heartfelt thoughts on the country.
Participants enjoyed a short video presentation about Azerbaijan and received brochures prepared in Slovenian, enhancing their understanding of the country. The event was further enlivened by a live performance from a local Slovenian musician, which drew significant interest from the audience.
The evening culminated in a poignant moment when the management of the nursing home was presented with a kelaghai, a traditional Azerbaijani headwear recognized as a symbol of the nation’s hospitality and culture. This presentation left a lasting impression on the attendees, highlighting the warmth and richness of Azerbaijani traditions.
