Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan: New horizons of economic partnership Azerbaijani economy minister holds several meetings in Ashgabat

The prospects for economic cooperation between Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan, as well as the positive results of partnership on joint projects, have been discussed.

Azerbaijani Economy Minister Mikayil Jabbarov, during his visit to Turkmenistan, held a meeting with Deputy Chairman of the Turkmen Cabinet of Ministers, Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov, during which the sides discussed the prospects for expanding economic cooperation, Caliber.Az reports, citing the Azerbaijani Ministry of Economy.

The role of the political will of the leaders of the two countries, high-level visits, meetings and events in the development of mutual relations between Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan was stressed at the meeting. The trade and economic ties are still expanded amid strengthening cooperation between the countries. The joint activity and partnerships in the economic sphere contribute to the development of the region.

The sides discussed opportunities for cooperation in energy, transport, investment, trade, agricultural, cultural, humanitarian and other spheres.

Jabbarov also met with Head of the Turkmengas state concern Maksat Babayev. SOCAR representatives also attended the meeting and discussed the expansion of cooperation in the energy sector, joint exploration and development of hydrocarbon resources, as well as prospects for the implementation of potential projects.

The Azerbaijani minister and Deputy Chairman of the Turkmen Cabinet of Ministers, co-chairman of the joint Azerbaijani-Turkmen Intergovernmental Commission Batir Amanov discussed an increase in trade turnover, holding the next meeting of the commission, and prospects for expanding cooperation in the development of ties between business circles.

During the visit, Jabbarov also met with Deputy Chairman of the Turkmen Cabinet of Ministers Batir Amanov and discussed the prospects for the development of ties and the potential for implementing joint projects in the energy sector.

At the meeting, attended by representatives of SOCAR, the contribution of the documents, signed between Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan in the energy sector, to the expansion of cooperation was emphasized.
