Bayraktar Teknoloji Azerbaycan begins drone production in Azerbaijan
Bayraktar Teknoloji Azerbaycan, the local subsidiary of Turkish defence firm Baykar Makina, has commenced production of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) in Azerbaijan.
Manufacturing is taking place at the Sumgayit Industrial Park, where the company became a resident earlier this May, Caliber.Az reports per local media.
The drones produced are currently intended for the domestic market.
The company was registered with the State Tax Service under the Ministry of Economy in 2022. Its registered office is in Baku’s Nasimi district, on Zarifa Aliyeva Street, No. 115.
The firm has a charter capital of 1.7 million manats, and is legally represented by Baykar Makina coordinator Hüseyin Topuz.
During the 44-day Second Karabakh War in 2020, Azerbaijani forces destroyed around 75% of their targets using Bayraktar TB2 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), according to Haluk Bayraktar, CEO of Baykar Technology.
