Azerbaijan-UK trade hits $928 million milestone — state committee
Bilateral trade between Azerbaijan and the United Kingdom has witnessed a significant upswing, with total trade volume reaching approximately $928.78 million from January to August 2025 which marks a robust 60.9% increase compared to the same period in 2024, data by the State Customs Committee confirmed.
Despite the impressive overall growth, the trade balance between the two countries has shifted notably, Caliber.Az reports.
Azerbaijani exports to the United Kingdom declined sharply, falling by 39.8% year-on-year to $240.58 million. As a result, the UK's share in Azerbaijan’s total exports dropped to 1.41%, down from 2.19% during the corresponding period last year.
In contrast, imports from the United Kingdom surged by nearly 290%, rising 3.9 times to reach $688.20 million. The share of UK-origin imports in Azerbaijan’s total import structure increased significantly — from 1.39% in the first eight months of 2024 to 4.57% in the same period of 2025.
The United Kingdom remains one of Azerbaijan’s most important non-regional trade partners, particularly in the spheres of energy cooperation and investment.
