Armenia-Azerbaijan peace deal crucial for regional stability, German envoy says

German Ambassador to Azerbaijan Ralf Horlemann has emphasised that a peace agreement between Azerbaijan and Armenia is a vital development for the entire South Caucasus region, with wide-ranging benefits for stability, economic growth, and international cooperation.

Speaking at a press conference in Baku during the German-Azerbaijani Export Finance Conference 2025, Horlemann said the peace deal would send a strong signal of stability to business communities and investors, boosting confidence in the region's future, Caliber.Az reports from the scene. 

He noted that such an agreement would not only help secure long-term peace but also create favourable conditions for enhanced trade and economic ties.

He pointed out that recent visits to Azerbaijan by numerous EU delegations reflect growing European interest in deepening ties and elevating relations with the country.

Horlemann also underlined Germany’s commitment to the region, saying Berlin sees significant opportunities to expand trade and economic cooperation. He added that the peace deal will play a key role in strengthening transport and logistics collaboration, particularly along the strategic Middle Corridor, a vital trade route connecting Europe and Asia.

Germany, he said, is ready to support Azerbaijan’s economic development by sharing technological expertise and offering know-how in various sectors.
