Azerbaijan, UAE discuss prospects of development of consular cooperation PHOTO
The Foreign Ministries of Azerbaijan and the United Arab Emirates held their first consular consultations in Abu Dhabi.
The Azerbaijani delegation was headed by Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry’s Consular Department Head Emil Safarov and the UAE delegation was headed by UAE Foreign Ministry and International Cooperation’s Consular Affairs Assistant Deputy Minister Faisal Lutfi, Caliber.Az reports.
During the consultations, the current state and prospects of development of cooperation in the consular sphere between Azerbaijan and the UAE were discussed, including the signing of a new bilateral document in this field and the possibilities of digitalisation of consular services.
An agreement was reached to hold the next consular consultations between the parties in 2024 in Baku.
The diplomatic relations between Azerbaijan and the United Arab Emirates were established on September 1, 1992. The trade turnover between the two countries amounted to $103 million in 2022.
