Azerbaijan, China discuss strategic partnership as new envoy presents credentials
On April 15, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov received the newly appointed Ambassador of China to Azerbaijan, Lu Mei, and discussed various aspects of cooperation between the two countries.
The Chinese envoy presented a copy of her credentials to Minister Bayramov. The Minister congratulated Lu Mei on her appointment and wished her success in her diplomatic mission in the country, the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry told Caliber.Az.
During the meeting, the sides discussed political, trade-economic, transport-communication, and humanitarian aspects of the Azerbaijan-China strategic partnership, as well as regional and international developments.
It was noted that last year was marked by the adoption of the Joint Declaration on the Establishment of a Strategic Partnership between Azerbaijan and China, and the importance of further strengthening this partnership was emphasized. In this context, both parties highlighted the significance of high-level visits and political consultations.
The meeting also underlined the broad potential for expanding cooperation in the areas of economy, trade, and investment. The sides discussed collaboration within regional and international organizations, including the United Nations and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.
Ambassador Lu Mei expressed her gratitude for the warm reception and assured that she would make every effort to further enhance Azerbaijan-China relations.
