Azerbaijani naval divers undergo advanced search-and-rescue training Video

In line with the 2025 training plan approved for the Azerbaijan Naval Forces, specialist classes in search-and-rescue and diving operations are actively underway as part of a training-methodical session involving the diving unit.

Following medical examinations conducted by qualified medical personnel, divers were cleared to execute assigned tasks, Caliber.Az reports via the Ministry of Defence.

The unit’s proficiency in underwater communication and use of signal systems was evaluated and deemed satisfactory.

At the current phase of training, personnel successfully conducted practical exercises in locating, identifying, and retrieving submerged objects using underwater propulsion systems and various search techniques.

The session also included both theoretical and hands-on instruction on the physiological adaptation of the human body to high-pressure environments within a hyperbaric chamber. Additionally, divers received training on administering first aid to injured personnel.

As part of the programme, the crew carried out underwater dives utilising the surface-supplied diving method, demonstrating the practical application of their theoretical training.

The primary objective of the session is to enhance the diving crew’s professional competencies and further develop their operational capabilities.
