Turkish official: Shusha - symbol of entire Turkic world PHOTO
The growing partnership between the cities of Kayseri and Shusha evokes pride and symbolizes unity not only for Azerbaijan but for the entire Turkic world, said Hulusi Akar, Chairman of the National Defense Committee of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye.
Speaking to journalists during a visit to Azerbaijan’s Shusha city on April 13, Akar expressed admiration for the reconstruction and development efforts taking place in the liberated territories, Caliber.Az reports, citing local media.
“What we saw on the way here and in Shusha itself fills us with immense pride. We witnessed significant progress. Thanks to the determination of President Ilham Aliyev, rapid development has been achieved here. All activities are being carried out in a systematic and well-planned manner,” he emphasized.
The visit included a Turkish delegation comprising members of Türkiye's Grand National Assembly, officials from the ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP), representatives of Kayseri municipality, university rectors, and business leaders visited Azerbaijan’s cultural capital, Shusha.
As part of the visit, the delegation met with Aydin Karimov, Special Representative of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the Shusha district. During the meeting, the sides discussed bilateral ties, the significance of the sister-city relationship between Shusha and Kayseri, the active work of the Azerbaijani "Shusha House" in Kayseri, and prospects for further cooperation between the two cities.
The guests were briefed on the ongoing landscaping, restoration, and construction work in the historic city of Shusha. The delegation also toured key religious, historical, architectural, and cultural monuments in the city.
