Northern Cyprus urges collective security efforts among Turkic states PHOTO
Turkic states should unite against natural disasters, illegal migration, cross-border and hybrid threats.
Yasemin Ozturk, chairwoman of the Legal, Political Affairs, Foreign Relations and Defense Committee of the Majlis of Northern Cyprus, made the statement at the second meeting of the chairmen of the defense and security committees of the parliaments of the member countries of the Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic States (TURKPA) in Baku, Caliber.Az reports, citing local media.
Addressing the Turkic states, she noted that the just struggle of Northern Cyprus, which is now part of the Turkic world, makes joint security activities even more necessary.
“The role played by Northern Cyprus in the Turkic world is an important element and an essential factor for every member state. In this context, the activities of the friendship groups established between the parliaments of our countries are commendable,” Ozturk said.
