Romanian official tours Baku’s Victory Park, reflecting on Azerbaijan’s victory PHOTO
During his official visit to Azerbaijan, Interim President of the Senate of the Parliament of Romania Mircea Abrudean toured Baku's Victory Park, a significant landmark dedicated to the country's heroic achievements.
Upon his arrival, an honor guard was formed at the park in recognition of the distinguished guest, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
Abrudean laid a wreath at the Victory Monument to honor those commemorated at the site for their contributions during the nation's second Karabakh war.
A detailed briefing was provided to Abrudean, highlighting the park's creation, which stands as a tribute to the extraordinary heroism displayed by the Azerbaijani people during the war and their monumental victory. It also serves as a solemn reminder of the sacrifices made by the martyrs, who died for the nation’s freedom and territorial integrity.
The park’s entrance is marked by a triumphal arch, which stands 44 meters tall and 22 meters wide, supported by 44 columns. The design symbolises the 44-day second Karabakh war, reflecting the strength and unity of Azerbaijan during that critical period.
Covering an area of approximately 10 hectares, the park is a testament to the enduring spirit of the Azerbaijani people. The Victory Park was officially inaugurated on November 8, 2024, with the participation of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva, further solidifying its importance as a national symbol.
