Azerbaijan, UN discuss ongoing demining operations

Chairman of the Board of the Azerbaijan National Agency for Mine Action (ANAMA) Vugar Suleymanov has met with a delegation led by UN Assistant Secretary-General Miroslav Jenca, as well as with UN Resident Coordinator in Azerbaijan Vladanka Andreeva.

The delegation was informed about the statistical data on mine incidents that occurred after the second Karabakh war, ANAMA told Report.

During the meeting, the purpose of which was to review the current mine problem and ongoing demining operations, Jenca noted that the UN intends to contribute to the further development of cooperation between ANAMA and the UN.

He expressed the hope that, as a result of joint efforts, mine incidents would be prevented.
