A comprehensive training course titled “Military Public Affairs and Strategic Communications in NATO (STRATCOM)” was successfully held in Baku, organized jointly by the Azerbaijani Ministry of Defence and NATO’s Joint Force Command Brunssum Mobile Training Team, with the support of the Media Development Agency.

Hosted by the Ministry's Media and Public Affairs Department, the course brought together personnel from various departments and military units of the Azerbaijani Ministry of Defence, as well as representatives from other government institutions, Caliber.Az reports, citing Azerbaijan’s Defence Ministry.

The program aimed to strengthen institutional capacity in the realm of strategic communication and enhance interoperability with NATO standards.

A highlight of the training included a presentation on the Communication Strategy of the Azerbaijan Ministry of Defence, offering participants an in-depth look into the Ministry’s media operations, publishing platforms, and multimedia initiatives.

Throughout the course, participants engaged with strategic communication experts through a series of lectures, interactive discussions, and practical sessions focused on contemporary challenges in military public affairs. These engagements provided a valuable platform for the exchange of experiences, best practices, and innovative approaches to information management in both peacetime and conflict scenarios.

The course emphasized the critical importance of cohesive strategic messaging, coordinated information operations, and the development of robust communication frameworks within operational environments. It also underscored the necessity for a unified communication posture among allied nations and institutions, particularly in the context of hybrid threats and information warfare.

In closing, participants were awarded certificates of completion, marking their successful engagement with the program and underscoring their enhanced readiness to manage strategic communication in complex defence settings.
