Azerbaijan's Minister of Culture Anar Kerimov and High Representative of the UN Alliance of Civilizations Miguel Angel Moratinos have signed the action plan of the global call "Peace for Culture" ("Peace4Culture").
Representatives from Azerbaijan, Albania, Armenia, the United States, Spain, Pakistan, as well as permanent representatives of member states of the UN took part in the ceremony, which took place at the UN headquarters in New York, Report informs.
Kerimov said during the event that the action plan for the Peace for Culture project, which was launched last year at the initiative of Azerbaijan, is ready. "Our contribution to sustainable development goes through the world," he said, adding that the main goal of the project is to ensure a lasting peace for the preservation, revival and restoration of culture in the post-conflict period.
"Throughout history, Azerbaijan has welcomed the cultural values of many peoples and encouraged their development. The project, which is being implemented today and serves for peace, is an integral part of our traditional activities,” Karimov said.
