Azerbaijan unveils monthly mobile broadband traffic per capita
Proceeding from the World Bank’s report, 86 per cent of the Azerbaijani population used the internet.
Some 86 per cent of the Azerbaijani population used the internet, while there were 20 fixed broadband internet users per 100 people in 2023, Report informs citing the WB.
Around 64 per cent accounted for the unique mobile internet users in Azerbaijan last year, while the volume of monthly mobile broadband traffic per capita was 2.3 gigabytes.
As of 2021, 43 per cent of the country's population older 15 made digital payments.
Azerbaijan had 0.69 points in the UN E-Government Development Index.
“Several upper-middle-income countries have seen huge growth in IT services exports since the COVID-19 pandemic. Six out of 10 such countries are in Europe and Central Asia. These countries increased exports of IT services by 30-130 per cent in 2019-2022,” the report says.
