Azerbaijan, US focus on enhancing partnership, COP29
Hikmat Hajiyev, Assistant to the President of Azerbaijan, Head of the Foreign Policy Affairs Department of the Presidential Administration, engaged in discussions with John Bass, US Undersecretary of State for Political Affairs.
The meeting focused on enhancing the bilateral partnership between the United States and Azerbaijan, shared priorities for regional peace, and the upcoming COP29 conference, Report informs.
During the talks, Bass emphasized the importance of sustainable and dignified peace in the region and the successful organization of COP29. "Welcomed today Assistant to the President of Azerbaijan Hikmat Hajiyev to discuss the bilateral partnership between the United States and Azerbaijan, common priorities, including sustainable and dignified peace in the region and the successful holding of COP29," Bass noted.
Note that Assistant to the President Hikmat Hajiyev is on a visit to the United States.
As part of the visit, the presidential aide also met with Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs Yuri Kim, Assistant Secretary in the Bureau of Democracy, Human Rights and Labor Robert Gilchrist.
The meetings featured discussions on bilateral relations, the current regional and global security situation, and a wide range of issues covering the normalization process of relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia.
