Azerbaijan wraps up Paris 2024 Olympics with seven medals
Azerbaijan has concluded the Paris 2024 Olympics with a total of seven medals.
Judokas Hidayat Heydarov (73 kg) and Zelym Kotsoiev (100 kg) won gold medals, while taekwondo athlete Gashim Magomedov (58 kg) and boxer Alfonso Dominguez (92 kg) grabbed silver. Greco-Roman wrestlers Hasrat Jafarov (67 kg) and Giorgi Meshvildishvili (125 kg) won bronze medals for Azerbaijan, Caliber.Az reports.
The 2024 Summer Olympics, officially the Games of the 33rd Olympiad and branded "Paris 2024," is an international multi-sport event that runs from July 24 and will conclude on August 11 in France.
The Paris Olympics saw the return of sports such as baseball/softball and karate, which were introduced in Tokyo 2020. New additions included skateboarding, sport climbing, surfing, and breaking (breakdancing), reflecting a trend towards youth-oriented and urban sports.
