Azerbaijani athlete to compete in UFC tournament

Azerbaijani athlete Nariman Abbasov will compete in the UFC tournament, a sports organisation based in Las Vegas (USA) and conducting mixed martial arts fights around the world.

The 28-year-old athlete made the remarks at a press conference, according to Report.

The AMC Fight Nights Global featherweight champion has already announced that he has signed an official contract with the UFC for five fights.

"Here, too, I intend to successfully perform and fight for the title," he said.

According to Abbasov, he is not interested in the material side of the issue.

"I am glad to be the first Azerbaijani to fight in the UFC. And, of course, I want to achieve the maximum, fight for the title, show my best fights," he added.
