Azerbaijani defence minister mourns with Türkiye over military plane crash
Azerbaijan’s Defence Minister, Colonel General Zakir Hasanov, has extended his heartfelt condolences to Turkish counterpart, Yaşar Güler, following the tragic crash of a Turkish military aircraft.
“I am deeply saddened by the news of the crash of a C130 military cargo plane on the Georgia-Azerbaijan border, en route from Azerbaijan to Türkiye. I extend my condolences to the families of the fallen service members and share in their grief. May their souls rest in peace,” Caliber.Az reports, quoting the minister’s message.
According to a statement issued by the Turkish Ministry of Defence, a C130 military aircraft en route from Azerbaijan to Türkiye tragically crashed near the Georgia–Azerbaijan border.
“Search and rescue operations have been launched in coordination with Georgian authorities,” the ministry noted.
