Azerbaijani diaspora activists in Vienna protest Armenian ecoterrorism PHOTO

Diaspora activists protested the illegal exploitation of mineral deposits on Azerbaijani territory, where Russian peacekeepers are temporarily stationed, at a protest in Vienna organised by the Azerbaijan Academic Union and the Austrian-Azerbaijani Association of Culture and Entrepreneurs (AZER-DER).

The protesters chanted slogans "We protest against the plundering of Azerbaijan's natural resources!", "End the ecocide by Armenia!", "Stop the ecological terror on the territory of Azerbaijan!" and expressed solidarity with Azerbaijani eco-activists, representatives of civil society and volunteers holding a protest rally on the Lachin-Khankendi road, Report informs, citing the State Committee for Work with the Diaspora.

They noted that compatriots living abroad will not turn a blind eye to the plundering of Azerbaijan's underground and ground resources by Armenia and Armenian separatists. According to them, the eco terror committed in the Karabakh Economic Region should turn into a universal problem.

Local residents were informed that during the almost 30-year occupation, Armenians plundered natural resources, and destroyed about 60,000 hectares of forests.

It was noted that the international community should support the just voice of Azerbaijan, which is making serious efforts to eliminate the consequences of the war and is carrying out large-scale creative work, and calling for taking practical steps to end environmental terror.
