Kyiv signals air defence cooperation with Azerbaijan

A visit by a Ukrainian delegation led by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to Azerbaijan has marked a step toward strengthening the strategic partnership between the two countries.

The remarks were made by Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Lieutenant General Andrii Hnatov in an interview with Report.

“We are primarily talking about a normal strategic partnership between Ukraine and Azerbaijan, which is mutually beneficial for both sides. Ukraine is ready to share its experience and help in organizing and strengthening the air defence system. There are aspects of this cooperation that I will not disclose at this time. These are relations between two states,” the statement said.

According to Hnatov, the cooperation is focused on the exchange of experience and assistance in strengthening Azerbaijan’s defence capabilities, making them more modern and better prepared for current challenges.
