WUF13: Azerbaijan, Saudi Arabia discuss urban planning cooperation

A Saudi Arabian delegation led by the Minister of Municipal and Housing Affairs, Majed bin Abdullah Al-Hogail, has arrived in Azerbaijan to take part in the 13th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13), which is being held in Baku from May 17 to 22.

The delegation met with Azerbaijan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Co-Chair of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission, Samir Sharifov, Caliber.Az reports via local media.

During the meeting, both sides expressed satisfaction with the hosting of WUF13 in Baku and with Saudi Arabia’s participation in the forum.

It was noted that the current state of economic cooperation between Azerbaijan and Saudi Arabia is at a satisfactory level. The two sides also exchanged views on modern urban planning issues and discussed prospects for the development of economic relations.

WUF13 is being held in close cooperation between Azerbaijan and the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat). The forum is aimed at facilitating the exchange of international experience in sustainable urban development, smart city planning, and innovative urban solutions.
