Egyptian Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Development Randa Al-Menshawy has departed the capital, Cairo, heading to Baku to take part in the 13th session of the World Urban Forum, set to run from May 17 to 22.

During the forum, Al-Menshawy is expected to participate in a series of high-level meetings and thematic events, as well as hold bilateral talks with counterparts from various countries. Discussions will focus on expanding international cooperation, sharing urban development expertise, and advancing joint initiatives in housing and infrastructure, Caliber.Az reports via local media

The minister is also set to present Egypt’s experience in developing smart cities and implementing large-scale housing and infrastructure projects, highlighting the country’s ongoing urban transformation agenda.

The forum, organised in collaboration between the Government of Azerbaijan and the UN-Habitat, brings together policymakers, urban planners, and experts to exchange perspectives on sustainable urban development, smart city solutions, and innovative approaches to rapidly growing urban challenges.
