Azerbaijani freestyle wrestler grabs bronze at Paris 2024 Olympics
Azerbaijani freestyle wrestler Giorgi Meshvildishvili has grabbed bronze at the Paris 2024 Olympics.
Meshvildishvili, competing in the 125 kg weight category, faced Polish wrestler Robert Baran in the bronze medal match, Caliber.Az reports citing the local media.
The match ended with a victory for the Azerbaijani wrestler, scoring 9-3. Meshvildishvili has added another bronze medal to Azerbaijan's Olympic tally.
The 2024 Summer Olympics, officially the Games of the 33rd Olympiad and branded "Paris 2024," is an international multi-sport event that runs from July 24 and will conclude on August 11 in France.
The Paris Olympics saw the return of sports such as baseball/softball and karate, which were introduced in Tokyo 2020. New additions included skateboarding, sport climbing, surfing, and breaking (breakdancing), reflecting a trend towards youth-oriented and urban sports.
