Azerbaijani judoka clinches gold at Paris Olympics

Azerbaijani judoka Zelim Kotsoyev has secured victory at the Summer Olympics in Paris, claiming gold in the 100 kg weight category.

The reigning world champion triumphed over Georgian competitor Ilya Sulamanidze in the final, Caliber.Az reports via local media.

Kotsoyev’s path to the final was marked by a decisive win against Uzbekistan's Muzaffarbek Turoboyev.

This victory adds to Azerbaijan’s Olympic success, following Hidayat Heydarov's earlier gold medal in the 73 kg judo category.
