Azerbaijani judokas claim two golds, one bronze at Guadalajara Grand Prix
Azerbaijani judoka athletes have won two gold medals and one bronze at the Grand Prix in Guadalajara, Mexico.
Hidayat Heydarov (73 kg) took gold, defeating Chushniddin Karimov of the Czech Republic in the final, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
Vusal Galandarzada (81 kg) also claimed gold, overcoming Eetu Ihanamaki of Finland in the decisive match.
Rashid Mammadaliyev (73 kg) secured bronze by defeating Justin Lemirzen of Canada in the fight for third place.
Earlier in the tournament, Balabay Aghayev (60 kg) and Ruslan Pashayev (66 kg) also won gold, while Ahmad Yusifov (60 kg) earned a bronze medal.
The 2025 Judo Grand Prix in Guadalajara took place from October 17 to 19 in Guadalajara, Mexico, at the Unidad Deportiva Lopez Mateos arena. This tournament was part of the International Judo Federation (IJF) World Tour and brought together more than 230 athletes from 33 countries.
The total prize fund for the tournament was €98,000, which was distributed among the medalists, coaches, and federations. The competitions were held in men's and women's categories, including weights from -60 kg to +100 kg.
