Azerbaijani karateka wins European gold in Czech Republic

Azerbaijani karate fighter Rahib Azim has become the European champion of the 2022 EKF Cadet, Junior and U21 Championships, which are being held in Prague, Czech Republic.

Azim outclassed his rivals from Bulgaria, Montenegro, Israel, France, and Luxembourg to grab the gold medal in competitions among young athletes (14-15 years old) in the weight category over 70 kg, according to azerisport.com.

Fatima Mammadova (47 kg) and Aslan Dostuyev (57 kg) won bronze medals in the same age category.

In the meantime, Vahid Hasanov (16-17 years old) and Huseyn Mammadli (18-21 years old) will also compete for gold on June 19.
