Azerbaijani kickboxers win 21 medals at European Youth Championships

The Azerbaijani national kickboxing team achieved strong results at the European Youth, Junior and Cadet Kickboxing Championships (WAKO), held from September 12–21 in Lido di Jesolo, Italy.

According to Report, the team secured a total of 21 medals: five gold, six silver, and ten bronze. With this achievement, Azerbaijan ranked 14th among 41 participating countries.

Azerbaijani referee Sabina Giyasova, a member of the judging panel, advanced to the international “A” category and was recognised as the best female referee of the tournament.

Vice President of the Azerbaijan Kickboxing Federation (AKF), Eduard Mammadov, congratulated the athletes and coaches on their success, while expressing gratitude to Honorary President Adil Aliyev, Federation President Orkhan Aliyev, and the Ministry of Youth and Sports for their continued support in developing the sport.
