Azerbaijani MP puts forward his candidacy for post of president

Zahid Oruj, Chairman of the Board of Azerbaijan’s Social Research Center, member of Azerbaijan’s parliament, has officially applied to the Central Election Commission (CEC) to register as an independent candidate for the presidential elections in the Republic of Azerbaijan on February 7, 2024.

The process started with the preparation of a preliminary notification and pledge documents, as required by law, according to Report.

The CEC will issue signature sheets in defence of the candidacy after checking the documents for compliance with the legislation.

The election headquarters of the candidate has already been established and steps have been taken to develop a corresponding action plan.
